The Montgomery Endoscopy Center was established in 1987. The center was the first ambulatory Endoscopy center to open in Maryland and was one of the first such facilities available nationwide. The Montgomery Endoscopy Center has been Medicare Certified since its inception and has been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc., since 1996.

The Montgomery Endoscopy Center is a state-of-the-art facility completely equipped for the performance of endoscopic inspection of the gastrointestinal tract. Procedures commonly performed in the center include EGD (visual inspection of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum) and colonoscopy (visual inspection of the large intestine). Staff doctors are able to directly detect ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, small growths such as polyps, and even early cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. Many of these lesions can be treated through the endo scope thus avoiding major surgery.
